Caring for your blooms
We take care to grow and cut you the healthiest fresh seasonal flowers. To get the most out of your cut flowers once you get them home, follow these few simple rules:
1) Get your flowers into cool water as soon as possible after purchase/delivery. Tap water is best as it is sterile
2) Using sharp clean scissors or secateurs, cut 1-2cm off your stems at an angle so the stems can take up more water
3) Ensure there are no leaves below the waterline in your vase. Any foliage sitting in water decays quickly and breeds bacteria
4) Keep your flowers cool and away from stressors such as direct sunlight, radiators, fruit (which releases ethylene, ageing flowers)
5) Replace with fresh water every 2-3 days
6) Some flowers such as tulips, anemones, and ranunculus continue growing in the vase, so you may want to trim them after a few days to stop them getting too leggy (this helps reinvigorate them too).
